Just tried to place an order for Phoenix via http://www.phoenix-sim.com, and it would decline my Visa. I thought I would post what I did to authorize the purchase as I am sure others will have the same problem, in the future.

- Phoenix merchant name is Runtime Games, and will try to charge to your card as such.
- Phoenix online ordering requires "Verified by Visa" if using a Visa Card. More Info Here (https://usa.visa.com/personal/security/vbv/index.html) or call 800-318-9617 (provided by bank)
- Phoenix online ordering does NOT take American Express / AMEX.
- Phoenix online ordering cart engine sends you to: http://www.ekmpowershop4.com/ekmps/shops/phoenixrc
- Phoenix online ordering payment engine uses Protx: https://ukvps.protx.com/vspgateway/service/cardselection
- "Authorisation on that payment type has been declined by the bank" Meant I had to call bank to allow "out of pattern" overseas charge.

Once I set up "Verified by Visa" password, and called bank to allow the unusual "out of pattern" charge, I was able to complete the order. The bank confirmed that "Verified by Visa" is a legitamite service.

I just wanted to let everyone know my experience, and to put someone at ease who is nervous about Phoenix's unusual secure online credit card transaction. Of course my expierience in no way endorses anything. You will obviously have to judge what is safe, and to protect your own financial or sensative information.

I hope I get my Phoenix, and I hope it was worth it! ;)

Wow, thanks for the drill-down. It makes me increasingly appreciate my LHS, who recommended Phoenix and sold me my copy.

Good luck w/ the consummation, and happy sim-flying!
