Hi,
I've got myself a secondhand Vibe 90 3D and all looks good.

I have noticed though, that I can rotate the washout block back and forth whilst holding the head by about 1mm and, also when holding the head, I can rotate the tail shaft back and forth and the tips of the tail blades move through about 30mm.

Is this normal?

Thanks.
Lee

I have the same play on the washout base of my Vibe 90 . I have never crashed mine and it has over 30 galoons on it. Probably becuse of the so many flight times it has developed some slop . And if you read the page 68 of the JR Vibe 90 manual (maintanence section) , they recommend changing of the washout base if there is excess play. I think after around a hundred flights this part developes some slop .

Movement of tail blades is normal since the machine has a shaft driven tail .

Thanks for the reply.
I have replaced the washout base and it's much better.
I checked the tail gearbox too as I thought the play was a bit over the top. I discovered the gear on the input side was missing parts of teeth so I'll change both gears.
Unfortunately, I snapped the hex driver off in the tail output gear and damaged the tail output shaft trying to get it out. D'oh.
