Hi all,

Does anyone know if there are any scale fuselages available for 500 size electric helis? I am looking to put one on my HDX500SE V2.

Thanks.

Is that a TRex 500 size (425mm blades) or a 30 size (500-550mm blades)??

If it's the TRex size, the only thing I know of is the Heliartist Airwolf.

If it's a 30 size, there are lots of 30 size fuses out there... try Century Heli...

I have the same bird and am preparing the HeliArtist Airwolf 500 kit from Flying-hobby.com right now.

If you opt to get this fuselage, I'd strongly suggest getting the GF retract kit with it (the standard retract pieces are all wood and I'm having fitment problems because they swell with the humidity). They don't have, nor apparently have any plans for, CNC retract parts like in the smaller kits. The fiberglass parts are laminated with wood and at least maintain thier dimensions better than the wood parts provided with the kit. The rest of the kit is top drawer quality and the finish is great.

I have written several times urging them to provide CNC parts at least as an option and provide the fiberglass laminate parts standard with the kit. Whether they'll listen or not, only time will tell.

Thanks Wyldman,

It's a shame that the airwolf fuse seems to be the only one available for the HDX500/Trex500 size as I'm not interested in this fuse. I guess I'll just have to wait until something else comes along.

I'm sure more will come with time. This is a good size for an electric scaler: small enough for avionics and batteries to be affordable, big enough to fly well with the weight of a scale fuse, and to allow decent detailing.
