Hi I just installed my Super Landing Skids and a Super Boom on my Honey Bee FP and I also did the fuse mod. Everything seems fine but when I spin up the helicopter to 50 percent throttle the tail motor speeds up way to fast and the whole helicopter starts spinning. I have tried messing around the gain on the 4 and 1 mixer but that hasn't helped.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

actually you should adjust your Proportion first. Try this

Proportional mix and gyro gain

Turn gain to below half way. (Note: Full clockwise is max gain.)
Plug in 4in1 and wait for solid green light. (Make sure helicopter does not move during this stage)
Fly heli and note the direction of yaw.
Land and unplug the 4in1. (Must unplug 4in1 for changes to take effect.)
Adjust the proportional pot.

If the nose was yawing right then decrease pot (counterclockwise).
If the nose was yawing left then increase pot (clockwise).

Repeat steps 2 to 5 till the yaw is gone.
Fly the heli and increase gain till you experience some tail wag. (No need to unplug 4in1 when adjusting gain.)
If you do experience tail wag then decrease gain a bit till the wag is gone.
Changes in the gain may reintroduce some yaw. If so, repeat steps 2 to 5 again with the new gain setting.

Note: Make sure not to move the helicopter while the 4in1 is initializing. Always wait for the solid green light before moving it, otherwise the gyro may not calibrate correctly.

Hope that helps

check you have wired the motors to the correct terminals and they are the right way around before anythin else :thumbup:

Clocked is correct, it sounds like you have the motors backwards.....

M1 = Main Motor
M2 = Tail Motor

The RED wires go on the "outside" of the connections. The BLACK go on the "inside" of the connections.

Top of 4n1
~~~~~~
RED
BLACK
BLACK
RED
~~~~~~
Bottom of 4n1

If they are connected correctly, then the Proportion knob is your next bet!

Ok thanks guys that fixed it. But I just flew outside and twice the main or tail motor seemed to just cut out for a second and then recover (lucky this was all 10 feet above the ground). Then I flew inside and it flew fine. I looked at the wires and nothing seems to be short-circuiting. Any ideas?

Thanks!

llama0412,

What setup are you running? Are you running 2S or 3S packs?

This can be caused by a couple different things....

Your 4n1 can be getting hot and "glitching" causing the motor to act strange (not likely on 2S, but possible on long duration 3S flights)

Your POTs in your TX are dirty and when you hit the dirty spots, it "glitches" the Tx which throws off the 4n1 and causes issues....

Alright thanks I look up how to clean flights. Oh and this was happening on the regular stock Nimh Battery.

Thanks!
