Second flight of the swift 550 carbon today, just making sure everything is ok before it cuts grass :) . Doing some autos and the tail rotor scrapped the grass. It didn't stop dead, but was just slowed up by the grass. As this happened the belt squeeked,I turned the head afterwards, it squeeked (not the head the belt or something in the boom). But after a while it stopeed, I then span it up agian and it was ok.

Anything like this happen yo you guys? Is it worth taking the boom off and inspecting the belt?

Ollie ;)

I would pull it apart as nothing is supposed to squeak. Could be a bearing or something that was thrown into the boom. Better safe than $$$ to repair the crash damage if you have a tail failure.

Check it very carefully and replace any thing (bearings, ect) that not feel smooth in operation.

Checked it over quickly, but will give it a proper inspection tomorrow. Cant see anything wrong with it, no squeeking at all now.
