Hey fellas.
I have a belt cp and would like to replace the gyro with either a GY401 or HG5000.
My question is, will the tx that came with the bird work?
If not, what HH gyro is available that will work with the stock tx?

Just a guess but I would imagine any gyro that has the gain setting on the gyro itself would work. The higher end gyros require you to make these adjustments though the transmitter so having the little pot screw on the gyro to make these adjustments should work with the stock radio. I'm thinking something like the Telebee/Zoom HH gyro or Futaba GY240 should work.

I'd go with something along the lines of a GY240. A gyro with a transmitter-controlled gain probably won't work, as I don't think you can adjust the endpoints on the channels and that's what set gain for one of these.
The 240 has pots on the gyro itself for setting gain and doesn't use another channel from the receiver. I don't know about the other gyros mentioned though.
