Reposting in new thread:

Even the current AP2000i documentation specifies "FL-180 Altitude sensor", but I can't seem to find this device anywhere (would be nice to know highest altitude as already supported in the current firmware). That and of course holding altitude... ;)

Any ideas whether this functionality will EVER be released? Original thread is from 2006... Has the development totally stopped for AP2000i?

Thanks

* Max altitude display (requires altitude sensor). Altitude hold to follow in future f/w release.

I'd be very interested as well. Just bought AP2000i and left an inquiry on Spartan's web asking about inertial sensors, I would buy altitude functionality at this very moment if it was available. I get the notion from reading here and elsewhere that outside of basic functionality the add on or will come soon stuff is vapor ware. Perhaps if a lot of people chime in here and post their interest Angelos might "enlighten" us and take some action toward delivering on the potential of this unit.

The AP2000i is old technology that works O.K. but the new technology stabilization is coming from a Captron Helicommand. I think Angelos has moved on to other projects.

Ok, I got some news!

Question to Spartan:
"In the manual, it's said that the AP 2000i is compatible with a digital sensor and an altitude sensor. Could you tell me more about those?"

Answer from Angelos:
"I am afraid development work on both of these products are currently on hold due to the high demand for our ds760 gyros. Unfortunately we don't have the man power to run these in parallel."

There may be some hope to see those products out soon!
