I'm just getting ready to negotiate with a local automotive paint shop to do the canopy and fins; the color is going to be a single-color,bright metallic red; with computer generated decals for trim, along with the Wren decal. Chris: if you have any Bergen decals, I would be proud to display them.

To all future turbine fliers: If you haven't had the experience of flying one of these birds yet, you're in for a real thrill! None of the gasser or nitro birds in my fleet come even close to the feeling of POWER in flying this turbine. And yet, because of its heavier flying weight, large main rotor size and low rotor speed (I'm running at about 1450 rpm) the heli lifts off and hovers as sweet and gentle as you please. I'm having more problems flying a recently-purchased Trex-450 in the living room; had to install training gear to learn to hold a stable hover!

In the past I've not used exponential in any of my helis or fixed wing birds; I like a quick control response for doing aerobatics. However, for this bird, I am going to add exponential to the cyclic controls. Because of the amount of power available, the cyclic controls are VERY responsive to control input; almost twitchy; I need to tone the response down until I become accustomed to it.

The startup and running of the turbine is almost anticlimax; there are no dramatic pyrotechnics, with smoke and fire. Startup is clean and rather quiet (actually quieter than my gasser); there is a distinctive whining-sound as the turbine comes up to idle speed. Another nice feature is that there is no after-flight cleanup at the end of the flying session. These engines run very clean.

I am rapidly becoming un-intimidated with this bird. Rain, rain go away so I can go out and play some more.
