Holy crap... just installed a Rigid and tried a test flight. The instant the helicopter left the ground all hell broke loose.

I've set up probably 5-7 AP2000i's with never any troubles. I had a hell of a time figuring out how to setup the Rigid.

I have the orientation of the mixer correct. When I lean the heli left the swash goes right, when leaned forward the swash goes back.

This is going on a stretched Logo 600. I flew the Logo without any mixers today to verify it flies well on the V-Bar head. It does.

I added the Rigid and now the thing is completely uncontrollable.... arrrghhhh!

tried again this morning with Rigid deactivated and 0% gain (no stabilization) Should act like no device is in the loop right? Not so. As soon as it lifts off it's uncontrollable.

Like I said before, I have flown this ship flybarless straight with no stabilization devices and it flew great. Put the Helicommand in the loop and all hell breaks loose.

Have you ground test it before you take off? Maybe lower the gain a little bit more.
Normally when you lean your heli forward/backward or left/right, your swash plate should always stay leveled no matter what. And the movement should be very smooth. Youtube

Do you have PC link that you can connect it to PC and take a look on the setting?
Have you turn Rigid mode on?

ok... re did everything. started from scratch. This time it worked. Go figure?! One thing I am noticing though is a trim change when activating Horizontal Hold. Not much, maybe 6 clicks in both roll and elevator trims. But why would there be a trim change??

Other than that I think I like it. It's got a different feel than my AP2000i's on flybar helis but the horizonatal hold does seem to do it's job well.

I wrote an entry in my blog about trimming out the Helicommand RIGID:

And here's an article on the EMFT forums about configuring the RIGID:

Good luck.

DJ, I had the same problems with trim changes. It was extremely frustrating.

Just make sure you go through the set button procedure and then trim for hover with the autotrim. It behaves quite differently to the AP2000i but once programmed and dialled in you'll find it very handy.

I agree those initial random trim changes can be very unsettling, especially when you are trying to set the machine up in a solid hover for AP.

Hopefully some of the tips already suggested have helped you sort it out. If you're still having problems feel free to send me your HC settings file and I'll check it out for you.
