Guys i getting ready for organize electronics and power set up for the Vibe 500E

First Question, we want to juse 6S, 2500mha 30C they looks like slim enough (31mm thikness) to fit under the canopy.

motor i thinking of a scorpion HK 3026-1000 or the Kora 15-16W.
I know normaly this heli is made for 4S or 5S but my exerience with the 500 its that 6S rules the shi...powerwise.
also nice if i can use the same batterys on both helis

So is this a good idee?with 6S and those motors for this byrd?

By the way there was some rumors that JR is comming with a 6S hot version of this heli???
and they also modified the Head for more hardcore 3D possibillity???

thanks and cheers

I'm Using the 15-14 on my SVE. 17T pinion. So you can use 15-14 with 14 to 15T or 15-16 with biger pinion. As you like. The 15-16 is more made to use 6S.

Anyway you will need a low KV motor. The scorpion will be too fast.

I heard nothing about a 6S version of this heli. Maybe then...

Dear Nicolas.
Thanks for reply.
The build goin well so far.
The Lipo i use fits in perfect with still some 2-3mm free clearence space to the new VIBE canopy.

its a V plus 2600mha 30C 6S. it also balance the heli well so far.

rightnow i still hope the HK 3026-1000KV scorpion with a 14 T pinion will work i count it will give me ca 2800rpm Headspeed maybe tooo much.??
Aniway when i finnish i post some picture of all and later some video but my flying will be not so good as yours.
the cora its then the other coice if the scorpion is to fast.
lets see.
cheers and thanks.

Scorpion is working on some lower KV motors for helis such as these and Protos etc. Stay tuned. :o

According to my math, you will need a 12T pinion to achieve the HS you want. 2800 RPM is what i use, no problem at all. I'm sure the heli is able to go faster but i don't see any use for it.

I have 2800 rpm with 5s, 17T, and a 790 rpm/volt motor. Around 85% on the ESC.

Jes shure you are right 2800 is shure enought for push it hard.
i was able to get a 13T pinion GAUY EP 550 yuse the same style pinion.so i will set ca 70% on my Jazz 80 and mesure the headspeed.

one mor thing, have you try some other manufacture tail blad grips?coz i think the org. JR are very small compare ALIGN or others and i cant find carbon blades which fit the grip, the org. JR plasik blades looks not
very promising.

regards and thanks.

Don't bother about the tail grips and blades! They are both very strong! Take a look here:
http://www.vimeo.com/1322099
At 4'39'' you will see a deep cut on a milk bottle made by the tail rotor of my SVE. No damage at all on the rotor or blades! I would not have done that with a T-600! Carbon blades are very fragile. And so rigid that tail rotor servos don't like it most of the time.

Tail rotor flyes very well with the stock blades. Even for hard 3D. The video you will see here is done with the stock blades:
http://www.vimeo.com/765680

The pilot was very satisfied by the tail rotor behaviour. It was only the fourth flight he was doing with the heli.

So don't waist money and time with the tail rotor that works very well.

What are the Gaui motor pinions made of? Brass or steel?

Dear Nicolas.
The pinion ar made of hard steel.

So today i just finnish my 1st test flight and unfortunately the pinion came down and screw up the main gear, see picture i not shure why maybe the power is to strong with this set up,
or i was not tide up the pinion enough.??
I get you another picture of the gaui-pinion ,they use 2 small screws to tide it up on the motor shaft.

Powerwise it was EXTREME!! I open up the JAZZ-80A only 60%!!

Sadly i could not really throw it around.
Aniway i will see to find out the issue and try again....
He its cool to start this tread on the VIBE-500E its a very cooool nice heli.

I really hope it get phust on the Market in USA with wide part support!!
Come on JR Give this Bird a chance!!

OK Here the Picture of the Build,i tid some mods for the reciver Spectrum AR6100e,
so i could put it at the bottom of the frame, easy axess to the cables and i can rout the wires very clean this way, range test was exelent, i stik the antennas out of this small slott of the frame.
also you can see the spoild main gear and how the pinion went tow on the motor-shaft.

some more pictures.
note the GAUI pinion also

The 2 screws of the Gaui pinion are face to face. Never use 2 screws in this case! Just one. The best would have been 2 screws but at 90° from each other... It's what i did on the Quick Japan bras pinions i received. I drilles 2 holes at 90° of the 2 already there.

Are the Gaui set screws 3mm or 4mm OD?

Nicolas

jes the are face to face and actually only 3mm ,but if they hold on a gaui i was think the should do the job also on the JR one.
I guess the scopion is a tick too strong on this hely on such small pinion???
so today i sold it and put the KORA 15-16 with a 18Thoot in as you recomented before.
Tomorow i will see........

By the way, cool build videos from you!
Cheers

Thanks! I initially bought the heli because i was really pissed of about the 100% Align heli population... The SVE4S is far better than a T500 and parts are cheaper.

You should have very good results with the SVE and the Kora. Keep us informed.

Ok!
Kora 15-16 on the org. 18T pinion 80% on the Jazz-80A in gov.mode and it flys like a dream!
I get ca 5min on a 30C ,6S 2600Mha. V-Plus Lipo.
Battery gets Handwarm, Motor also just Handwarm.
Its Hold the Line better then my 500T-rex also very quiet just Bladesound and motor.
All over all very nice Heli and Quality.

Only one thing i dislike so fare, i guess the Maingear needs a update, (if you are running 6S)

i notice some grind of on the thoots after flying some tik.toks and hard climp out, see picture,
som BIG QUESTION is there a upgrade out so far?something stronger??

I am 1000% shure the Gear-play motor to maingear is perfect adjustet i doublechek this many time,
(i also work as a Mecanical-Electronik Engineer) so i trust myself on this.

Thanks and cheers,

Maybe it's just the plastic being a little bit compressed at first flights. I alredy had this on the old voyager E, on the intermediate gear. No lifetime problem on 5S with Kora 15-14.

I noticed on Vibe 500E pictures of the 2008 IRCHA (runryder) that some of them had an optional main gear. With metal center hub and probably a gear screwed on it. It's looking exactly like the K&S main gear uprgade for the Voyager E... Since JR sells the SVE in Japan for 4S, no need of this main gear. But wait and see for the main gear type of the Vibe 500E in the states since it will probably be released for 6S.

Vibe 50 parts are in stock in several online stores, and prices for parts are on par with Trex 600N parts.

hm 5 min with 2600 sounds great

what is with bigger packs 4000 or 5000 do they fit?
can you make a picture chassi with lipo?

There some picture lipo with heli.

So far i use only Outrage 30C 2500Mha 6S and V plus 30C 2600Mha 6s on this heli,
5min nice power, cells still remains at ca 3.75V after flight
.there would be no space for 6S 4500Mha..

Chek Horizon Hobby, it looks like JR is putting the 500Vibe on the USA market now.
Its alse 6S!!
Very nice...

Wow... $700!

I got my TRex 500 for $790, WITH 9650s, G7703D, 3500G, Scorpion 1600, and SAB 430mm carbon blades!

First: you can't compare T-500 and The Vibe 500. The T-rex is a crap compared to it. A REAL one. But you have to have the Vibe 500 in your hands to understand... (A SVE4S in my case, almost the same. A few details are different to satisfy 6S flight requirements).

Second: 700$ is supposed to be with motor (not a bad Align one...). And it's an official price. It will of course be lower. Anyway quality have a price.
