Hi guys,
Both myself and a mate of mine have had this with our 40mhz 14mz's.
The rx just won't change channel wirelessly but will do with the DSC cord, however as soon as you turn off the rx then turn it back on, it forgets the frequency and you have to do it all again which is a royal pain in the ass.

This only seems to happen with 'additional' recievers bought in addition to the one in the kit.

The one that comes with the kit seems to remember just fine.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Si

Guys,
It appears I was doing it wrong and now it's working :)

Sorry about that.

Worth a re-post on this. Here is the way I do it and I have NEVER had a problem.

First - confirm that the TX is set to 2048 G3 and that the G3 RX serial number you want to control for that model is entered correctly.

Then:

Confirm that RX is OFF

Hold the TX antenna as close as possible to the RX antenna. I do it with just the first big section pulled out. Mine works even with an antenna installed inside a carbon fiber tail boom on a glider. I just hold the TX antenna as close to the boom as I can.

Touch "LINKAGE" on the TX

Touch "FREQUENCY"

Select your channel

Hit "YES" to confirm that is correct.

Wait for TWO chimes to sound - THEN turn the RX on

Channel #1 servo should "tick". Not really move, it's just a quick little tick around center.

Touch on "DONE"

Go fly. If you have not put in the new software you will have to cycle the power on the TX. If you have the update you do not need to cycle the power.

This works for me without fail.

The really critical thing is to make certain that the serial number is correct AND that you have the RX power OFF when you start and ONLY turn it on AFTER you have selected the new channel and the TX has chimed.

Yeah the problem was that I had the RX on before changing the channels.

As soon as I didn't turn it on until the TX started sending the change channel command then it worked. This is using the DSC cord. I'll try the wireless tonight.

The RX ID was all fine.

Thanks,
Si
