I am kind of new to heli's and crash a lot. :o So I was looking for a plane to fly while my heli was down. I came across an A-10 Thunderbolt EDF Ducted Fan Jet. I would like to know if this is a good plane for a beginner.
I would like to learn more about the Ducted fan jets then move up to something like a GAUI Tiger Shark once I can actually fly. :YeaBaby:

There are also 2 Different Camo color schemes.

Hello,
This plane seems to have brushed motors and NiMh battery and it's bad for a plane like this because the EDF have very high speed rpm and the brushed motors aren't resistant for a long time (around 20 flights only).
If you want a EDF plane these seems very cool.
I have an Art-Tech plane and almost every people having Art-Tech plane are happy.
Here are two plane from Art-Tech in Hobby Lobby. With a very good looking:

And my favorite one:

Does the F/A-18 Fly slow enough for a beginner?
I may just save another $100 and buy that. I have never flown a plane before and was looking for something relatively cheap to start on (I may not stay with it). I could always use the F/A 18's Battery for Helis:YeaBaby:

I don't have the F/A-18 but he seems to fly pretty slow (see the landing in the vid).
But if you are a begginner (a real begginner) a propeller plane will be much better.
Here is my first plane (and i have it yet). I am very happy of it and if you have a simulator (other than FMS :) ) you won't be disapointed of this plane.
Best Regards

The most I've ever done with planes have been paper air plane back in middle school. :)
I just don't really like the look of prop planes, hence why I am looking at EDF Jets.

Ok it's your choice. I will buy an EDF soon too.
So you'll be happy with the two Art-Tech I mentionned above.
Maybe this plane will be cool too http://www.hobby-lobby.com/jas-39.htm
But I think the F/A-18 will be the best for you. Here is the test:

Do you have a descent simulator?

They all look nice, The F/A-18 just screams out to me. I like the look of it more than the others. I like most F-Series jets (F-15, F-16 ect.. ) I do have a real sim. (Just waiting on my DX7 to come in the mail) Thanks for the help :noteworthy

brushed motor, slow..... GWS has a nice A-10.. A-10 is good for beginner because its very stable and has good glide capability.
i would if you never flew before suggest Art-tech's P51 very strong, perfect flyer even for a beginner and very good price ready to fly.
