On the end of the pitch Arms with the Tempest FAI head in order to set either Positive or Negative Delta there are 2 types of ball link listed #0105 or #0107 along with spacers #122-17 that effectively give you 4 options, 2 positive and 2 negative.

The threaded balls I have #0105 and #0107 appear to be correct in that they measure 4.5 from the base to the top and 6mm respectively which matches the information on Ricks for the dimensions however looking at the pictures in the instructions it appears as though the ball links used are much longer they look closer to 10mm in length.

any thoughts?

On the Tempest FAI head. The balls on the pitch to be used should be
0107 M3 X 6
0109 M3 X 8

Positive Delta
No Spacer 0109 M3 x 8 = +3.3mm delta
No Spacer 0107 M3 X 6 = +5.3 mm delta

Negative Delta
One 122-18 Spacer 0107 M3 X6 = -3.3 mm delta
One 122-18 Spacer 0109 M3 X 8 = -5.3 mm delta

Negative Delta of 3.3 mm is what I have found most pilots use.

DaividH,

How come then when you look at the drawing here:

http://www.miniatureaircraftusa.com/support/kit_drawing_page.asp?kit='1022'&section='MRASM'&image='01E-01F'

Look at Drawing 1F and look at the pitch arm, it shows the threaded ball options as #0105 or #0107 there is no mention of #0109

you can also see from the drawing what I meant when I said the balls much longer in the drawing that the relevant part no...

Zilly,
I would guess that it is just a mistake on the drawings.
Cliff Hiatt wrote the instructions for setting up the Tempest head since he is the person that designed the Tempest FAI head. I have never looked at the drawings. I go by the instructions that Cliff wrote.
