I have tried contacting Auroa but so far they have not responded to me. I have sent PM and tried to register for their Forum and so far have not been given persmission to join. Anyone else having issues?

I just started my build and so far my kit is of poor quality to say the least.

The main shaft is NOT threaded deep enough *this is a safety issue by the way* and should be addressed immediately! If someone gets a heli up in the air - hoveing and this pin comes out that holds the main shaft in.....well I sure dont want to be very close by!

My main gear is rubbing the frames...and I have tripple checked the bearing blocks for proper mounting. The tollerance is too close.

I am a manufacturing engineer and so far this looks like a prototype kit to me.

my kit must have been a "monday morning" job too.

you can "fix" the mainshaft issue by dremeling off 1-2 of the threads of the set screw at the bottom of the shaft. excuse the crude diagram below

that way the threads won't prevent the setscrew from "going up" against the pin as again they are not machined deep enough. Personally I think it's rubbish we should have to "fix" anything in a kit of this $$$$$$

Augusto has replied to my PM but it simply directed me to the return policy for bad parts. Their policy is now that you must return the defective part prior to receiving a new one. Im ok with that but.... What do I return for the main gear and frame rubbing?...The whole heli built to that point?

hummmm....i say.....?????

I am curious how Avant plans to survive doing business like this. Don't get me wrong I wanted one bad but at 1st but not anymore.

Check your main gear bearing blocks, if they are not the correct orientation as shown in the instructions, the main gear to frame clearance will not be enough..Others have made this mistake!

I have removed the main bearing blocks and tripple checked them for orientation...and they are by the manual. I have even tried tightening them in different order...etc. For whatever reason, my main gear just rubs the frame. It doesnt rub alot but it rubs enough that it does not roate freely.

Although I have not heard from Augusto yet, I did fix my gear rubbing the frame issue. It turned out to be a bearing that was not seated all the way into the mounting block. Because this bearing was not seated all the way, it was pushing the gear up, (about 2mm) causing the gear to hit the frame. After I pressed the bearing in, reinstalled everything it now looks ok. By the way, I had two bearing blocks that the bearing was not pressed in all the way...so something to look for.

A 6mm tap and just finished out the threads on the main shaft was not a big deal and easy to do as well. got it from osh think it was like 6 bucks. We should not have to be tapping anything but...............................we do so oh well. I would rather tap it then send it back and thats just what i did.

I'm kind of wondering how many of these helis were from the first run and they were just included into the second batch.

Well...., I ordered a 6mm tap and am now awaiting its arrival to "fix" my main shaft threads. I am VERY unhappy with the quality of this kit so far...and the LACK of concern from Augusto. He did email me and asked for my phone number on Thursday...but has not called me back. I have had my kit for OVER 3 weeks now and its still not even close to being built. Ive built all kinds of helis....and this one is by far the one in need of MOST needed improvements....not big but...still needed!

I have yet to hear from Augusto, so tomorrow I will call the distributor where I bought my kit and determine what my options are. I am ready to return the kit.

Yeh my mainshaft was not tapped quite far enough.
So 2threads were taken off with a dremel.
Red locktight on the pin. Blue on the set screw. Very happy camper.

Heli is built Not one part missing. But don't drop any either.

The only problem I had was with the fan hub being too tight
Waiting for Augusto to reply to my PM.

Also my swash has verticle play as described in other threads but I'm not that concerned yet.

Shed, the fan does go on tight. Use some oil and work it on if it is an OS. If this is a YS motor you really need to get a TAP as the YS threads are not the same as the OS threads. See my video it explains it.

Finless , Thanks for you videos I watched them for some months over and over.

My motor is the OSSZ-H. I would have had the hub ON/OFF 40-50 times.

Each time it left a small amount of metal on the cranch shaft. Each time I sanded with 400 grit then 900 grit. Some times with oil sometimes with heat. No go.

Anyway she is flying now . WHAT A HELI. !!!
