Just do the same thing you did with 11-25-05 ... 12-08-05 installs the same way.

Here is something I find interesting. I see all these 14MZ owners that are Not in North Amercia using this update. Futaba/Hobbico USA clearly has this warning on the update listing

From Futaba:

(For North American users only. International users, please contact
your local International Distributor for the latest 14MZ updates.)

Now what are the 14 MZ owners from outside North America going to do if this update screws up your radio?
The 14MZ's are region coded for the countries they are sold in. Updates for 14MZ's that are coded for North America may be different than 14MZ's that are coded for other regions.
Just a thought.

I had the same thought David. But it is amazing that so many outside the US are willing to do it anyhow.

I do think that Futaba should make these updates available globally with region specific notations as they may, or may not, apply.

As David noted, there may be a reason that it is only available to US customers. For instance, Robbe posted their update for the European versions back in July. Why didn't the European guys download that one instead of the US version??

Go back to the previous version.

It turns out that there is no dfference in the software between the USA and the rest of the world.

If this was the case you could easely buy a radio in Hong Kong and put a local update on you radio to get the regio changed :!:

didn't the European guys download that one instead of the US version??

Because this is an 'older' version, the 12-8 version has newer functions

Now what are the 14 MZ owners from outside North America going to do if this update screws up your radio?

Folks outside the support region do it at their own risk (they've been warned) and will have to deal with their local support folks to correct a problem if it were to happen! :arggg:

So now that it has been out for a while.
Are there any known issues with this latest release?

Nope

Works great here, no more having to turn off the radio when changing models, frequencies and modulation all at the same time. Gotta love that!!

Cool, I'll load it up tonight and take it out and freeze it tomorrow.

Thanks

So it's harmless to update the radio then, for Europeans?

Thanks

Outsite North America, you install at your own risk!!!! (Although I haven't heard of anyone having trouble with it overseas.)

RCfan,

Have read that, but what is the difference in the software? Between the "North American" and the "European"???

Not entirely sure, but it appears that the version we got may have some additional fixes over the one Robbe released a couple of months ago. Only feature not described in the Robbe release, and honestly the most useful one in the latest update, is not having to power cycle radio during model/frequency changes.

Well, I could not recist so I updated the software. The power cycle during frequncy change was the reason.

And it seems to run just fine.

Hi Fredrik

The Robbe Version has selectable German language for the menue as well and this was the only big feature for the Germans back in July.
What frequency are you flying 35, 40 or 72 ?
I have a 35MHz "European Version" but changed to 72 by Futaba Service and have installed the new US Update without problems.

Rolf,

I'm at 35. The selectable language is English and German. That was in the version I got from the beginning. And still has in the update.

Hi Fredrik

Did you use the 12-08-05-T14MZ-update.zip as posted by Rcfan or the update posted by Robbe on their website ?
I'am just wondering because of the German language, but it seems as the German language is not touched even if you install the US Update.

Hi Fredrik

http://support.robbe.com/at_start.php but you have to register first. To get access to the T14 downloads you have to register again using the key you may find on a sticker on the 2nd page of the Robbe manual. This key you only get if the Radio is from Robbe and not from Futaba.
Anyhow there is a new independent website t14mz.com where the different software, mod files and pictures may be stored. Just e-mail to yourID@t14mz.com and the files will be stored at t14mz.com/yourID

Merry Christmas to you and your Family

Rolf
