Tail fins or Not ???

I have been noticing that a lot of the .50 to .90 helis are going without the horizontal tail fin. Whats up with this? Do our helis not really need this fin. I understand the Vertical one as it protects the tail rotor.:lol:

Horozontal fin is not really needed. You do probably need the boom supports though. And most helis have the boom support and tail fin as one assembley.

Also, you can get rid of the vertical fin and replace it with some stiff piano wire to protect the tail rotor.

I haven't flown with the horizontal fin for sometime. All my helis fly without it.

I gottcha. Thanks for the input. I'm gonna leave it off my Kinetic 50 as it looks cool without it!
