Guys,

I hope that this doesn't sound too much like bragging, but I thought that I'd share some good news after all of the crashes / fires. Last week I had my most recent lesson and it was awful :(:( basically I had been practicing my figure 8's wrong - too much lean angle and not flying in balance, but ending up dropping in sideways :thumbdown:, so when I was trying circuits they just didn't work at all - I keep falling out of turns and would have crashed constantly.

So for yesterday's lesson it was two steps backwards to very simple, low speed 8's until I got those sorted - heli in balance and much more controlled. So Paul just said "right straighten up a bit earlier and we'll try racetrack circuits again) - so I just came out of the right turn earlier down the far side and round to the right again - easy :):):). I did a few more and landed with the biggest smile you've seen. So we landed, had a cup of tea and did some left-hand circuits to follow :thumbup: (they weren't quite as neat buts till OK). Next flight was a few 8, some left-hand circuits, a few more 8's then some RH circuits :thumbup:.

I was so pumped - smiling all the way home - hope you guys don't mind, but I had to tell someone - espically as trying the circuits was the cause of my first ever Hurri crash.

Cheers,
Mike.

Sorry for more boasting, but had another fantastic lesson today. We started off with some circuits, left, right, 8's, fast ones, slow ones, high and low - no problems at all :thumbup:

We then tried a few piros and nose in (no probs), and then tried a new approach for take off's - up to hover, piro and then fly off, then we moved on to stall turns and a couple of almost auto's (auto down to about hover height with engine on but not throttle). We finished off with a new exercise called "grids" - basically like a square circuit but half way along the far leg you turn towards 90 degrees towards yourself, 180 degree "U-turn", back away and then another 90 degree to finish off the circuit.

We then finished off with a tank full of just hammering about everywhere :D:D

I'm dead chuffed (very pleased for you septics) - it suddenly clicked.

Cheers,
Mike.
