A friend of mine bought an AP2000 with the FMA sensor a few weeks ago. We both fly a Hawk pro and both have Hitec Eclipse 7 transmitters. He asked me to help him set-up the AP2000 as he is still somewhat new to helicopters. I have installed it on my Hawk using swash plate type S-1. All of the servos move correctly. I'm using an on/off set-up with the AP2000, when the switch is off the AP is off, when I turn it on the AP goes to 70%. The problem I am having is when I turn the AP2000 on the aileron and elevator servos move slightly causing the helicopter to drift right and backwards. I also noticed that the aileron servo is moving the wrong way when I put my hand over the FMA sensor. I read something about calibrating the AP2000, can anybody tell me how I do this?
Thanks in advanced.

you need to calibrate it each day you fly. start off at a low % if you go to hi bad things can haooen faster then you can react to them. setup is easy and mark is always around the forum for help. if you dont have setup to calibrate you need to tilt the sensor one way to compensate for the tendency for the heli to drift in one direction.
i would start at about 40% and go from there. i had 100% set in and it was way to much and i had a elevetor oscolation and that resulted in a midair boomstrike. this is a very good system but as with all other things what you get out of it depends on how you set it up.
i belive you need to the trims in the ap2000 and not so much on the tx.

Add stabilization gain on your TX. Place your hand on the right side of the sensor. The swash should give left cyclic. Reverse AilS in the AP2000i menu as needed.
Place your hand at the rear of the sensor. The swash should give forward cyclic. Reverse Eles in the AP2000i menu as needed.
Configure the selected gain channel on your tx to allow gain from OFF through 100%. If desired, activate the calibration feature by changing Scal OFF to Scal P-R. Cycle RX power.

Nice quote...wonder who wrote that.;)
Follow along in the quickstart and don't fly again until everything checks out.
I haven't gotten to play around with a Hitec tx before so I'm afraid I don't have any programming suggestions. If you can, make a program mix in your tx. One way to watch to see if it's working is to have the AP2000i on while you attempt it. What you are after is an offset on the low end of the signal. For example, if your tx is reading 100% endpoints while the AP2000i reads OFF, you may need to have an offset that drives the signal to 110%. The exact figure will vary based on your tx specifications. Check in your program mixes. See if you can assign your gain channel as master and slave and then select a negative offset.
I really wish I could be of more assistance but I just don't know that tx.
