Really looking forward to this event. I am looking forward to seeing all of my friends in the Huntsville area. I hope to see everyone there. Troy and the guys do a great job with this FF and I anticipate that it will grow every year and it will if not already be on the DO NOT MISS LIST of many pilots.

Just made reservations for the event at the

Best Value Inn
2201 N. Memorial Parkway
(256) 536-7441

looks to be about 3 or 4 miles from the field and is $47 a night including tax...

Probably not the nicest...but sure is cheap enough when splitting 3 ways!

See ya all there!

Well...I was just informed in a PM that I might want to reconsider my choice...is this area just a couple miles south of the field that bad of a location? I don't really care about the quality of the hotel...we are never there more than long enough to sleep...

teeroy...can you expand on this...I mean if you think the truck will be ripped of in the middle of the night that is one thing...but if it is just crappy old hotels then...that is good enough for me...

I centainly like the $40 plus tax room rate...YES...I am cheap when it comes to hotels and the government isn't paying! :D

Greg
I personally would not stay there but there is a bunch more nicer hotels within about 4 miles from the one you are talking about. If you need any more info let me know.

Troy,
I told him the same thing. I had stayed there years ago when it was still the Days Inn.
I emailed him and told him to get one of the motels out on University Drive. Better and safer enviroment.

OK...I guess I will change hotels...but is it a "bad" area...or is it just an old crappy hotel...I don't give a damn how nice the hotel is...just ask Bobby! we killed roaches in a hotel in Delaware last year! :D I am not joking! If I am going to get mugged or shot...that is a different story!

I don't mind spending another $10 or $15 each a night...but I will leave it up to the rest of the guys coming with me...they are cheaper than I am!

Troy, in the flyer it says to visit the Huntsville web site for accomodations. However, what area of town is the closest to the field? We are looking to make hotel reservations now as well. Any hotels you guys recommend? We're cheap too, but not as cheap as Greg and crew  :D

I really dont think you will be mugged or shot, its not a real bad area either just not the newest place. I have not been in it in 20+ years. I just would not prefer not to stay there myself.

Bert...our cheapness comes from necessity! :D Beast and I hit between 20 and 25 events a year! We come to fly and have fun...sleep and hotel rooms are low on our list! Plus...work is where you catch up on sleep, right? :D

Troy thanks for the info...I guess I will listen to where everyone else is staying...and then make changes accordingly...

Bert
The hotel Greg is Talking about is the closest and is on the north side of town. The majority of hotels is on University drive and the furthest one would not be over 15 minutes from the field. I would stay in the Hampton Inn, Country Inn, Econolodge,LaQuinta Inn East.

If David and Troy (who lives there) are recommending a move, it is probably a good idea Greg. I would.

I though Beast has higher standards than you and over ruled anyway Greg. ;)
