I just received a new Outrage XP25 battery but it doesn't look like the other Outrage pack I have. First the new battery is smaller than my original one. Second the shape of the battery is different and the way it's wrapped. Third my original battery uses 12AWG wire and the new came with 14AWG wires.

I did purchase the new battery from eBay and can't help but suspect that it may be a fraud. I know companies are always improving and adjusting design but these chages seem a bit extreme.

Please help!

PM Greg Alderman and ask him. He is at the Jamboree right now. But I would think he has internet access. Also Charlie from Outrage will be at the Jamboree also, if he is not already there.

Looks like an outrage pack, without the cardboard ends. How does it perform?

The Outrage 6s 1300 packs changed in size shortly after they were released. They became shorter and lighter, so it wouldn't surprise me if these have changed as well.

check the dimensions against what the manufacturer says, to me the smaller one looks like most other outragae packs.

The bigger one is one of the new design packaging with wider connection area among cells to allow better heat distribution so the packs can be cooler after flights. However it will become bigger and heavier. The bigger one performs better in terms of temperature.

We will change back to normal small size very soon.
Sorry for the confusion. It's authentic OUTRAGE XP packs.

So when ordering lipos how can i be sure that it is the specs advertised? There is an obvious size difference.

The one with the wire running down the side looks a 30C pack. I purchased two 25C packs about 5 weeks ago and they looked like that. As a result they would not fit in my King2. Come to find out, outrage mislabeled a shipment of 30C batteries as 25C and sold them. They offered to replace them for me but I just decided to keep them and use some others for the King2.

Thank you all for the replies, I feel much better now. Going to solder on some deans, charge her up and take her out for a flight. :)

Edit: Tested the new battery and it operated with outstanding performance. The only thing I don't care for is the smaller size, the CG with the larger one is perfect.

The larger one looks identical to my 30C 2200mah Outrage pack

Another question going into direction of fake batteries...

I've just bought two 6S 5000mAh 25C batteries for my Logo500.

All fine, and I'm somewhat impressed with the performance!

But I noted that on the sticker, it reads that it's rated for 25C 125A continous, 50C 150A peak.
Uuh...
I thought that the C-rating is more or less linear? ;)
25C equals 125Amps, but 50C should be 250Amps...

Maybe a typo, but nowadays a company only needs a minor difference to be able to claim not to copy someone else's product...

Anyone else have that typo on their label?

Cheers,

Daniel

Scratch my last one...

Just saw on their site, that it's even in their product-pictures... ;)

Cheers from snowy (!) switzerland,
