q8hobbytime,
It is hard to tell from your post but it "sounds like your are new" to flying R/C helicopters. If this is so you might want to try a couple of things.
If you had a crash one thing you should always check after a crash is the feathering spindle (the shaft that holds the blade holders). They usually bend in a crash and it will cause the blades to go out of track and can cause a vibration.
Did the helicopter vibrate and tail spin around in your first hover after the rebuild or after you made the motor adjustment?
If you replaced the tail tube during the rebuild you need to make sure the belt only has a half twist in it and in the proper direction as this could cause tail rotor control problems.
How many turns out is the needle on your new engine? My OS 50's run between 1 and 1/2 turns out on the main needle "after break in".
Also, if you have SKYPE (an free internet phone service) you could call me toll free from what I understand and we could talk as I am also a SKYPE subscriber. Others here may be able to tell you more about SKYPE as I have installed it but not used it yet. You need a sound card in your computer, speakers and a microphone.
You can also PM me if I can be of any further help.
Just some things you might want to look at.

Also check to be sure that the tail servo is still working. The crash could have damaged the servo and/or gyro.

This may sound silly especially that I know you already had this gyro set up properly before but I have had this problem when first setting up my helis. It sounds like you need to reverse the throw on either the gyro or the transmitter or maybe both. Mine would throttle up and piro really bad one way or the other, It took me awhile to figure it out but I changed the servo reverse on the gyro and it is fine now. Hope this helps.

Thats what is sounds like to me. check the gryo and make sure it is compensating the correct dirrection. If not rev the gyro and recheck. I think on a raptor that servo horn forward is Right and back is left.

I haven't put my raptor 50 up in the air yet, but raptortechnique.com helped me with some of my build and setup questions (if you are new like me, check it out). Jay and Bighands say the same thing as RT.com said.

It sounds like to me, that you tail blades might have been setup in the neutral position. U need about 5 degrees of pitch on the blades or about 4.5mm from the boom.
If im correct then the reason it doesnt spin around on the training gears is because the gear being held down by grass or so while taking off.
If the blades are "neutral, 0 pitch" when taking off without the training gears then the main rotor blades will cause the tail to spin around to the right or so due to contrificaual force of the main blades. Hence the 5 degrees of pitch will help fight it when first taking off.
But im sure you have it by now, since this post is over a month old.
