Hello Gents,
I need to pick the brains of those that know this machine well (600E) this thread is on behalf of a friend, he is having a major issue with his knight. When he first powers up the heli behaves 100% fine BUT...as soon as the voltage drops on the lipos (Aplus 4500mah) the tail starts to whip left and right. He is running a solid G gyro and is setup correctly...the problem only happens when there is a voltage drop.....any ideas?
Any help will be great :-)

Hi there Tradhunt, He says its starts about 5 min into the flight. this is what his setup is.
Hobby Wing Pentium 100amp ESC
CC BEC 10amp
Reg is the Spektrum VR5203
Thats all powered by a APLUS 1050mah 20c 3 cell lipo
Spektrum 821 servos on cyclic and 8900 on tail with the solid G
Aplus 4500mah 6 cell 22c for the motor
Hope this helps?

change the regulator to SGP reactor or fromeco arizona, vr5203 only supply 2 amp (constant) and 3 amp peak for receiver, or you also can use hobbywing ultimate BEC that can supply constant 8 amp and maximum 15 amp at peak. I use hobbywing UBEC without any issue till now. Hobbywing UBEC use 2s lipo, or for a little modification on battery connector you can use Hobbywing UBEC 5 amp high voltage that can handle 10s lipo, 5 amp is constant power with 7.5 amp at peak power, see this link

To be honest i cannot guarantee that i know this issue but i vote for the regulator or esc. But i have the same esc without any problems and they have nothing to do with the rest of the electronics....hmm i bet its the ubec as well. And i am unsure about the high power ubec from hobbywing..but i think it can also handle 3s but i flight it on 2s. Its an easy try to get another BEC for 20$ and give it a try.
Other than that i would suggest to verify that the tail is very smooth and the rod is not to far from the servo center but then the wagging would appear much earlier...
i bet its the ubec.

Hey GootyS,
Wow 5min. into a flight... Thats prob. doing it because the battery's drained (the Aplus 4500).
I usually only get about 4-4:30min. (give or take a little) on my 6S 5000 lipo's and I put about 80% or just over on them (airthunder and Kongpower). I think most are only getting about that much flight time out of their's as well.
How much is he putting back into the pack when he charge's it? If you're putting more then 80% back into the pack (on a 4500 about 3600 or so back in) try to time you're flight's so you keep it around the 805 rule. Try to fly about 4:30min. and if you're still putting too much into it try 4min. Go till you get to about the 80%.
I think that is the prob. as I've had that happen on some of my elec. heli.'s 450's,500's, and 600's when the battery is drained down it will lose power and the tail will go all crazy and such....
As for the reg. and such the CC is a great reg. i've ran them on some 6s bird and I'm actually going to put one on my 600E but I'm gonna run it of the main pack to get rid of my RX pack.
Dose it happen on all the flight's or just after so many. if every flight i wouldn't think it's the bec or esc. but if it's after 3-5 flight's it might be the elec. setup due to the RX pack getting low.
I think it's the main pack getting too low and just not enough juce in it to power the system... Like I said that has happened to me a few time's when I didn't set my timer on my radio it would do as you described.
You won't get much flight time out of the large elec. heli.'s as they drain alot of juce.
My setup I have athe stock motor, CC HV85, Arizona reg., Kong rx pack, hs-5625mg's(waiting on my 8717's to come in) And a Logitech 6100T gyro servo combo...

Thanks Guys for all your replies. He thinks it may be the small lipo (1050mah), he visited a the guy he bought the kit from and compared his Knight to this guys knight and saw that the only difference was the lipo....so he is going to try a bigger one and see from there. I will let you know how it goes from there....
