New Old Newbie?

Just wanted to say hello. Been away from heli's since 01. Only been flying 35% and larger aerobatics. Have gotten by the heli bug again because of my brother. Right now I'm searching for my new heli. I've narrowed it down to a Raptor 50v2 or Tiger 50.

Anybody got any good comparisions between the two? Also anybody got one that want to get rid of?

First, Welcome back!
There are a few key points to note between the Raptor and the Tiger 50, Some structural, some asthetic.
Larger shouldered bearings, and enlarged bearing spacing. This spreads the load over a larger area. Tiger 50.
Popularity. Raptor

Repair price. Tiger 50
Stability. Tiger 50
Reasonably Priced upgrades. Tiger 50
CCPM. Tiger 50

FWIW: I do not own a Tiger 50, or a Raptor. I have however built, setup, and test flown several of each.
My opinion, the Tiger 50 will be stable enough to let you re-learn and is upgradable to fly hard 3D.
Out-of-the-box, the Tiger will give you confidence to try new stuff, and is a pretty tough machine.

I have flow both myself and i perfer the raptor because of the following.
The raptor is 3-D ready out of the box but is stable enough for the beginner. The tiger you have to do a few upgrades to do any 3-D. The raptor is lighter also. Just remeber you get what you pay for.

Works me, I need to dust off the heli thumbs before knocking out any 3d stuff anyways. Thanks for the info. No build thread to do on it ,but I'll keep a log of my returning adventures into the heli world :D

Glad to hear you are getting back in JeeUm. The ehli bug is one of the most powerful "bugs" in the world. ;)

Either would be great helis to refresh your skills on. You are in for fun!! Get the Hyper 50 and the JK Hatori SB-50 for the Hyper and you will have a very potent powerplant combo!

Also, H2dab here on HF is buying a house and you may be able to get my old Raptor 50/Hyper 50 combo from him for a very good price, and help out a fellow heli brother at the same time. The machine is very low time and right. PM him for info.
