Hello, does anyone know where to buy a G-SMART. I've been looking at 50 size heli's but ran across a few threads about this bird w/18 OS. I'm just curious and have searched all the well known vendors. It is almost like they are not available. Maybe one of the ESKY Freaks would know. Thank you.

If you ask him i'm sure he'll do you a reasonable deal.

Thank you, Grant. Mad4rc.com, looks like a great site and I will e-mail them. The problem may lie with our weak dollar. The posted price was $676.16 . I don't think that includes International shipping. I can get a JR Vibe 50 w/OS 50 hyper for $710.00, no tax, free delivery. I think we can all agree there is no comparison. In the threads I've read they were sold over hear for $200.00. Now this sounds like a good deal. That is why I was curious. Every thread I read, the owners were really happy with this bird, and loved it's stability. Once again, thank you for taking the time to respond. I will be ordering a Phoenix simulator from your great country, in the next week. Grant, to you and all the wonderful citizens of the U.K., thank you.

No problem, if you can find the things you need outside of the UK you could expect to pay almost half the price! The UK prices for almost everything is close to double that of most other places:(.
Good luck

Thank you DierWolf. I will check this site out, shipping etc. It is so cool how hobbyest from around the globe are so willing to help each other out. I sure wish I was in St. Maarten, right now. What a beautiful place. Once again, thank you for your time.
On another note, does anyone know who the main US distributor for Esky is?

I ordered two of these G-Smarts in December ' 07. from - www.HiModel.net
The price was/is marked at US $199.99 with the engine plus a few $$ more for courier delivery. This kit does not come with an O.S. engine - its a Chinese made 1.8cc heli engine. Little screamer it is too !
Ordered one for myself and another one as a Xmas present for an old army friend of mine.
The one I ordered and received cost just under US $50 It was delivered undamaged, to my front door - China to Western Australia, within a week of placing the order. :-)
My friend got his for the Xmas present - but I missed out on getting the second one. ;-(
I've marked their site with a " Contact me " marker twice over the last eight months.
I received an email from the shop when I placed the order saying that the TWS factory was up-grading the G-Smart, but they would be back in stock after that was done and the model was released again. - - Still waiting.
I found one for sale on an Ebay.au site a week or two ago selling from an on-line shop here in Oz - they wanted about US $720 for it !
Think I'll wait a while longer - still want one for sure, but I've got my E-Smart toys to play with in the mean time :-)

Just to correct one thing in my post above - - the G-Smart kit with engine cost US $199.99 and another US $49 & a few cents for the cost of the courier service. Total of just under US $250 all up.
'DierWolf, - - - that site you posted looks good value for anyone in the U.S. or nearby. But to get one out here to Oz from the US covering the extra freight costs it would set me back about US $100 more than if I can get one direct out of China.
About time to email HiModel at their 'help' site, see if they have any idea when stocks will be available again. US $199.99 - with an engine ! ! ! Good value.
My friend's G-Smart engine has had about two gallons of 20% nitro fuel through it so far and hasn't missed a beat to date.
It does seem a little under powered at times, like just after starting up - until he gets the revs built up a bit. He's very happy with it, not being into 3D flying or anything like that himself - he's happy just buzzing around in the sky. :-)
There was a site we found of a bunch of fliers in Singapore who are into the G-Smart. Some of them where talking about experimenting with putting an O.S. 32 and 37 SZ-H heli engines - that should prove interesting indeed ! :-)

Hello Flip465. Thank you for your time and website link. I am so glad you and your friend like the G-Smart. I also like how people are modding them w/ larger engines. It's also nice that you guys like the Chinese engine. I had read where E-Sky was going to use an OS.18, maybe that is one of the changes. In some threads, I read that pilots were having trouble with the stock engine. I was considering getting the airframe and buying an OS but if the stock enjine is as good as you write, it may be a good buy to just learn to hover on, etc. and then move up to a larger one when the stock dies. Once again, thank you and all the great citizens of Austailia.
Let us know when you find out something on the re-release of the G-Smart.
Any more input on this model, from anyone would be appreciated. I did find one distributor in the US who sells the G-Smart and the Thunder Tiger Pegasus 18(also highly reviewed) but they have been out of stock for many months. Yes these birds are under powered but are large and easy to see as well as being more stable than a 450 size. They are more for relaxation thus I think would make for a good beginner heli w/out the expense and battery/charging hassles.

Hey guys, In the last post I mentioned the Pegasus 18 being a Thunder Tiger product. It is made by Smartech. They are not inexpensive and are well thought of. My theory on the G-Smart is there could be a shortage of the 18's because they are being used in the car market where the profit and sales are much higher. I still think these birds would be a lot of fun and would just sip the fuel.
