Can anyone shed some light on the 40% throttle for hover setting recommended in the manual? Am I to interpret it to mean that one should be at aprox 40% throttle when hovering? Is this maybe to ensure that the engine isn't over-speeding at hover? I'm pretty sure I had it set there with the first flight but I was getting the vertical tail wobble at that speed...HS too low.

I have not messed with an SR. But I am guessing the carb is setup the same as an ST. The 40% mark on the carb is where the mid range needle is in effect. If your hovering at like 60% opening of the carb. The barrel is trying to meter between the mid range and the high end needles. So it makes tuning a little tricky at times. Low end needle affects the mid range needle. Mid Range needle affects the High End needle. So set the high end needle last in the line procession. At least that is how the ST's worked.
