Is anyone aware of any instructional video for this model radio? If so, I would appreciate the feedback.

Thanks

What do you want to know about it? I have been using 9Z's since 1994. I may be able to answer your questions.

I would like to know how to set a V throttle curve on a switch. I didnt get a manual with mine, I got everything figured out except the V curve. I just down loaded the manual but it didnt help any. I have it set for a switch but it wont do the V, it just goes full travel on one side then halfway negative but doesnt go high throttle both ways. Also is there a way to reset everything, all models, and everything? Mine is full and I may be haveing problems because of a subsetting or mix somewhere.

Do you have an idle up switch active?
Go in the CND menu then go to Throttle Curven. Then up at the top of the screen it will tell what condition is activated. In Normal mode it will have Norm. For Idle Up 1 it will have Idle 1. When your in an Idle up condition you can adjust the throttle curve ever how you want it. Then when you flip the idle up switch the throttle curve will be active in that condition.
In the CND menu, anything that you want to adjust, you have to adjust in the flight condition that you need the adjustment.

Yes there is a way to do a hard reset on the radio. But unless you have a service menu enabler to recalibrate the radio I do Not suggest doing it.

You can go thru each model in the radio and do a complete reset on each model.
This is located in the MDL menu.

Someone else mentioned resetting the model to an airplane insted of heli to reset the parameters for each model, then just switch back to heli.

The 9Z, 9ZWC, 9ZWCII. All have the same software. Only difference is the WC and WC II have the duo mode in the Gyro menu and a Fuel Mixture control function.

Yes you can change model type in the parameters and that will reset the model back to default. But you will still have to go to each model in the radio and do that.
You can go to Reset in each model and do an ALL reset. And it will reset the model back to default settings.
Yes you can only Reset the model that the radio is currently activated to. It is the same where you use the Reset function or change model type and let that reset the model to default.

Mines got the fuel mixture control also. I got it figured out finally, once I set up the idle up I had to copy it into the existing model, then I couldnt figure out how to set up the curve. When you go to throttle curve you have to flip the switch to set the idle up curve. I feel a little stupid now, I actually figured it out by accident. Thanks, sometimes I need a picture. :D

300wby,
That is something that you have to remember with the 9Z. When working and making adjustments in anything that is located in the CND menu. You have to make the adjustment with the radio set to the flight condition you want to adjust.

For example, it you change an ATV setting in Normal flight condition. That ATV setting only changes in Normal flight condition. If you want it the same in the other flight conditions. Then you have to flip the switches and make the changes in each of those flight conditions also if that is what is needed.

That seems to be the hardest thing for newbies with the 9Z to grasp. Is that when working in the CND menu that they have to adjust each individual flight condition.

Phaedrus, I have the manual, its really hard for me to read how to do all this. I have to just keep messing with it until I do it. I did get the V stup and it works right, I was happy. I told my wife she could use this radio to learn with and probably learn to fly in half the time it took me, it will almost do it by itsself. Has anyone really ever needed everything this radio will do?

Sorry, I thought I read that you did not get a manual when you bought the radio. I was just trying to point you to where you could get it.

It didnt, but I downloaded it, Do you know how long it takes to print out 150 pages? Standard radio setup is in the first half and heli info is in the second half.

Well to be truthful, I have had a 9Z since it came on the market in late 93. I didn't even get a manual till I had the radio for several months. I have only looked at the manual a couple of times in the last 13 years. I truthfully don't see how anyone can use the manual and get the radio working. But that is just me. How I learned the 9Z, I spent many hours and days with pilots that had received there 9Z about 6 months before I did. I have learned most of the stuff that can be done with the 9Z by talking to other 9Z owners. There is so many different ways that things can be done with the 9Z. That is what makes it so versatile.

OK, got everything set except the gyro, I have one rate in HH the other in non HH but its not going into HH when I flip the switch? Its a 401, I just want it so I can lift off in non HH to trim it then put it in to fly.
