Well, i am considering getting an Ion but I have a few questions,
What kind of lipos does everyone reccommend? Can I use a pair of like 5000's? I am a mild 3d flyer, nothing crazy.
Anything special I need to know about big electrics? I have no experience with electrics other than an old Hornet. I just built a Trex (finished tonight) so I already own a Astroflight 109 charger and my family owns a Honda dealership so I think I can get my hands on a EU1000 or a EU2000
What is the talk about some kind of "battery safe" for transporting batteries?
Just a few questions
Hi!
TP makes a 10S 8000ma battery for the Ion-X Which should be perfect for your use. You can also use a 10S 6000ma battery, which is cheaper and lighter but also gives shorter flights and more stress on the battery.
I would get the NEU 1521-1.5Y motor, and a 10S controller different from the Jeti/Hacker controller which will start a big fire if handled incorrect. Some people loves this Jeti/Hacker controller, I hate it
I think lipo batteries are safe if not charged incorrect, so I dont use any special container for transporting them. You also have lipo cells in your mobilephone, laptop, gps navigator etc. etc.
You can get the motor, esc. and batteries from TPpacks.com

I love the Hacker over the Castle. I never had Castle that started and ran smooth. They all studdered on start up and in gov mode the steps were to far apart. The Hacker even in gove mod will trasition from point to point really smooth
I hear the Castles do have better a better gov mode and the time freq. is a bit higher so you will get a faster running motor with a Castle.
I talked with some one from MA and they said the Fires are caused by overloading the controller buy going from "Hold" like in an auto to on and the controller trying to spin the head up. I was told dont bail out of autos and it should not over load

That`s correct, it only ignites if handled incorrect. I just don`t want a controller with this :bomb: "feature" :bomb: .
