Hi,
I have the thermo temp probe installed, and have the radio setup for my bench test this weekend. But I have a question for all those experienced Wren Turbine builders. In the package that had the plastic holder thing, longer bolt etc. to hold one the temp probe... there what a small metal tab things... about 5mm wide.... 10 mm long rounded at one end with a hole in that end.... what's it for?
I hate having left over parts :arggg:

could you be refering to the metal version of the p clip that holds the temp probe at the rear of the main turbine, a bit like the plastic one that holds it on at the front? it attaches to the exhaust screws to hold the hot end of the probe which then goes into the hole in the interstage.

That sounds like what it may be and also what I thought it was... Does anyone have a picture of it being used? I thought I would bolt is down with the nearest bolt, then bend it in place.
Incidentally, I setup everything to a bench/board and plan on testing it this weekend. The radio setup within 5 minutes. Over all, it's a really easy process. I was surprised at how easy the fuel lines worked out. These engines are really a lot easier to build and run then expected. Coupled with the low maintenance, (other than the cost) I don't see why more people aren't using them.

Thanks Matt, that's exactly what I did (without the tubing).
I'll be running the test later today.

Thanks Ron, that helps explain a few things!
The tab is to hold the thermocouple in place on a thrust engine and it attaches to one of the tailcone screws - see pic. It's not always used on the gas-generator engine because the positioning of the thermocouple tip is slightly different.

Hi Folks, just back from Portugal. :YeaBaby:
Matt, sorry I hid your tab in the packing as it wasn't needed, but you did have one, hope all is well.
Deron, really glad you enjoyed your build, simple isn't it.............
'Nigel' the gorilla, from my new epic, 'Gorillas In Our Midst will soon demonstrate how to do a quick bearing change in just a few minutes!!
The film has had a 'private' release and will be on general release here as soon as Skeeter Pilot posts it up exclusively on this forum! :YeaBaby:
