Hi all,

I got an Ion for Christmas and I have it all together except for the motor. I have the Actro conversion from MA--I don't have the part number but it includes a thick carbon plate, a bearing block and a drive shaft and pinion gear. There are several pages of instructions which say to "assemble as shown in the diagram"--but there is NO DIAGRAM. :arggg:

There is one photo included in the package but it only shows the fan which is no longer included in the set.

Since they didn't include the motor or speed control (and the factory and Rick's are both closed until next year) I can't really get it in the air this week anyway, but I'd appreciate it if someone could post "the diagram" or a reasonable faximile in the meantime.

Thanks,

George

I will take some pics of mine for you today George. You may want to get the motor to assemble the plate to it before you install the whole thing in the heli. The pics should help you understand. The MA people are taking a badly needed vacation. I should have the pics posted by lunch at the latest.

Thanks, William.

There's no big hurry, because (as you say) MA is on hiatus until the New Year. I'm not going to put the drive shaft/pinion, etc in until I have the motor to mount, I've just been puzzling over how the pieces fit...as you say, I think it will be more obvious when I have the motor to look at and see what kind of output shaft it has.

Thanks,

George

It will be alot more self explanatory. The output shaft is actually not used. The stud that is supplied to MA threads into the opposite end of the motor andd the actual output shaft of the actro points down between the skids. I am tied up with work right this minute, but I will get pics ASAP.

Thank you for your patience,

Just so long as you have the Heli version of the motor.
If you are getting it from MA then you should be getting it, but if you order the Actro elsewhere make sure you specify the heli version or it get's weird to mount. :D

My .02.....

Get the NEU 1521 and go 2 stage with it. :D

Sorry, my camera batter is dead, I left the damn thing on last time I used it. I have another on order as of this morning. 65.00 + shipping :DOH

Will take pics after I get the new on on Tuesday. :arggg:

Got it to charge. Will try to take pics in the AM. Maybe it is my charger going out?? Gotta rig up a way to do it on my Schulse so I can see what is really going on.
