Receiver question

My son in law is looking to upgrade his fm receiver to a pcm receiver. He currently has a Futaba 7CAP and there doesn't seem to be any 7 ch pcm receivers available. Will a 8 ch pcm 1024 receiver work ok with the radio that he has. I realize that he could only utilize 7 of the 8 channels. He was thinking that he could put his LED battery meter in the extra channel port. He also got a CSM revlock 10 for christmas that he will be using, will this be okay as well.

Any help that you can give would definently be appreciated

In fact the 7CAP package comes with the R138DP receiver which is 8 channel PCM.
