Try a different 5014 RX.

I would but that is only recommended for the US on 72mhz, not for us who are using 35mhz.
I have three other 5014 RX's in IC helis and have never had a problem, its only since I have tried one in an electric heli :(
Could still be worth a try I suppose, thanks for the suggestion Phaedrus.
I would not cut it if you are on anything other than 72 band. That is the ONLY band it is recommended for.

... and even if you still wanted to, you wouldn't know how much to take off due to wavelength differences.
Dokey0, go over you're heli one more time just to make sure that nothing else is causing the glitches. Ensure the Rx is physically isolated (and insulated) from everything else. Make sure wires aren't frayed or the antenna isn't coming into contact or passing near any metal/carbon parts (where possible). If you're still not comfortable with it, send it in to support for a check-up.

Hey dokey are you using a ubec or rx battery? if a ubec i had problems in my ion when te motor would spool up i would lock out. seems to be draining to much power from rx. had a bad ubec. maybe you have the same problem. try using a rx battery and see what happens. i think the g3 uses a little more power than normal rx. but i don't know for sure.

I had heard of some Ubec problems, so from the start I used a separate RX battery.
Took the heli out yesterday and had two flights, not a single sign of a lock out, this is with the PCM RX not the 5014, maybe it is a faulty RX, will have to look into it a bit more!!
