Depends on what your needs are. If You are just learning, and want a budget priced entry level chopper, the Hawk Sport or hawk Pro are good choices...
Larger sized Century products are comparable in many areas...

Get a Raven 50, it's a great little heli and the trend the past year or so seems to be to start everyone off with a 50 so why not you too! And if your looking at Century, the Raven is what you want.

The raven is a great heli. But as Lamebird posted depends on what you want and what the budget is. If you have nothing the Hawk pro combo from them is a good package at a great price. I would recommend a futaba 240 or 401 gyro tho. The Raven is agreat 50 sized ship but at a little higher price than most.

I agree with Rodney.
But as another alturnative the Swift wich is the New electric model is a fine bird for beginers and experts. A bit more expencive at first but you dont need to buy fuel so you save there.
Nor do you need a starter or glow stick and setup is easyer.
A simple setup, radio gear and transmitter shouldnt cost more than $1000
(4s 1p lipo and standard motor.)
Try to get over to where Alan and Danny Szabo flys in Vagas. (Alan seamed to like the swift when he flew it.)
Theres a fun fly coming up.
This year it will be held Feb 17, 18, and 19 2006.
There will be more information on the web site:

What does your local hobby shop carry. If they have parts and kits thats what I would suggest. Any of the century heli's are a good choice. On a budget.

The Falcon is still in the Century line up because it fits very well in a lot of the scale bodies availiable from Century. It is often forgotten in these discussions because pilots are usually discussing 3D and in that area the Raven is the 50 sized entry from Century. Not the Falcon.
The falcon is used mostly by Raptor guys when compairing TT to Century because TT looks good in this light. After all the Falcon is an older design and was availiable when the Raptor was still in it's v1 stages so to be fair, the Raptor guys have to start compairing against the Raven or have to only compair the Raptor V1 to the Falcon.
Funny, the Raptor guys usually steer clear of the Raven as a compairable product. Not sure why though.......

the FAlcon can still 3d as well as a rappy cause they are both MCCPM. (mehanical mixing on the heli)
The Raven has ECCPM and is lots quicker on the cyclic.otherwise they are the same heli.
