What camera do you plan on carrying?

someting like a nikon coolpix, dont have ny digital compact camera yet.
and thats why i asked what i need,
i guess i need to have a servo to trigger the camera shutter.

and when it comes to the downlink. is there any cameras than can send the signal down to the ground at and take picture at the same time. or do i have to put in a small cam so i can see what i'm aiming at ?

but can the t-rex 450 carry that much load. but i have seen videos of nitro rigs with a longer exaust deflector so i guess i can make somting up for my t-rex 600.

sorry but i'm green at this

You can use URBI R/C Interface Canon/Nikon (http://www.blip.com.au/item.aspx?itemid=12) to trigger.

I'm not too familiar with a 450's lifting capabilities but I'd opt for a 600 as a minimum.

Nitro birds are capable of being used for AP. Most worry about smoke getting all over the camera. Just be mindful of the wind's direction.

For example COPTERFILMS' (http://copterfilms.com.ar/english/index.php?PHPSESSID=1ecd4e9562ca0bde06bbebbf94e08b 79) uses nitro.

Personally I'd use electric for something you want to do. You probably have tons of 600 parts already so going 600e will be easy for you.

Zid, not beeing nasty, but just crossread here and on RR in the aerial Photography forum. I read 200 pages of runryder AP stuff before i started and learned alot. its all written in there... Don't do it with the 450, I would op for the 600, how about trading it to a electric version with somebody, and using it that way...

yeah i know there is a lot of reading and preparation.but have most ready now
have ordered me a downlink, shutter control, camera, not decided on the mount yet, maybe try to make one by myself or go for one of the pre fabricated.

airfoil mini pro1
or that askman pan and tilt mount.

and one question to.. how important is a flight stabiliser like ap2000i ?
going to start out with my 600 nitro. and get an electric one if the nitro gives me to much problems or maybe i have to get me a heli just for AP if i have to use this ap2000 unit..
:o

I have a BLIP and it has worked great.

Like all of the devices out there it has pro's and con's...but again...personally...I have been happy with BLIP.

I mainly use a Canon G9.

BLIP won't help you if you're using a DSLR...pretty much need manual controls for a full-bodied camera.

Also...I have a T-Rex 450 equipped for AP work. It is strictly for lifting a small Sony P&S camera...just set to continuous and I just eyeball the angles (mount does have tilt).

Works ok...shotgun approach.

The Maxi Joker II in the fleet is my real work horse though.
