I purchased the bc610 and the multipack adapter and this cable.

http://www.rcaccessory.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=251

Here is what I did.

1. plug first battery into the balancer, designated battery 1
2. plug the other battery into the balancer designated battery 2.

Now, if you look at this video...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZRLimcpdwbQ

It shows one male connector with two same color leads (red) and one with a black and red. The black and red go to battery #1 and the end with 2 reds go to battery #2.

The cable I bought had one male end with black and red, and the other male end was black and black.

Now, what I think I did wrong is possibly following the video and trying to incorrectly match up with the cable I had. I think I had the balance taps reversed, Bat #1 and Bat#2 going into the balancer were reversed and this caused a short when I hooked up the power connector between the two batteries.

I THINK, I don't know!

When I tried my original way I carefully approached the second battery and it bearly touched and a HUGE spark occured!

What happened?!

OK, I got it working. Obviously it was a short because I had the batteries hooked up backward.

First, I'm ignorant and vaugely know what I am doing, I guess it would help to have more electronics knowledge first.

I was trying to follow the video too closely and not think abouot what I was doing. The cable I bought is different from the cable in the video. They have a black and red wire going into BAT#1 and two red leads going into bat#2.

In my working setup, the lead with both black ends goes into battery #1 and the red/back lead go into battery #2.

I knew in the back of my mind i was doingg it wrong. THere doesn't appear to be any damage, it was a milisecond short, which could do damage to the cells, but it appears it is good, I am charging both batteries now.
