Open gearbox fixed?

Hi all

Just wondering about the open gearbox and the spectra g.

I know this may have already been answered but I did a search and didnt seem to be able to find anything.

Has the problem (if there was one) been fixed on the spectra g and the open box? I have a friend who wants a spectra g but he wants the open box but wants to know about the output shaft breaking. Is this still an issue? Did the grubscrew gears fix it?

I believe the reccomendation is to use the closed box on the Spectra G.
Maybe someone will confirm this?

There are people running both boxes successfully. MA recommends the closed box, and is shipping kits with the closed box.

we run the open gearboxes on our scalers and have had ZERO problems with them... course this is with a flex cable so i doubt any engine vibes get back there lol.... but, no issues or problems with the open boxes themselves to date. and this is with 4 blades back there at 120 mm each.....
