A plank guy here is about to buy a 12z and wants to change from mode 1 to mode 3. How do you change modes?
Is mode 3 ailreon + throttle on the left, rudder + elevator on the right?
Here is what you need to do for a mode 1 Tx
1. Open up the back cover, swap the gimbals, as 12Z has a shorter travel on throttle
2. Do the stick calibration
3. Go to function menu, assign the the correct stick functions

Laddy,
He is going to need to get into the service menu to recalibrate the sticks.
Here is a thread that explains how to do that.

I believe there is also a menu in the service menu to default the transmitter to what ever mode you need. Instead of having to go into the function menu and assign the functions each time.

Hi David,
You are right, but there is mode 1 & mode 2 only, no mode 3 or mode 4 (At least for my 12Z).

Mode 3:
Aileron and Elevator: left stick, Throttle and Rudder: right stick.
The message is confising, since in the thread there is a request to switch from mode 2 to 3, while in the message the request is to switch from mode 1 to 3. In the latter case, simply swap the function from the menu.
