I would like to convert my 700N over to flybarless, but I need to mod the head. So fare everything is easy accept the blade grip part. Do you really need to make the linkage ball longer? I would think you do not have to since the blade is still 90 deg from the ball on the swash that controls the blade. The link maybe at an angle, but this should not matter, right???
I would like to hear other thoughts on this.

Apparently it does and a bit more than that too!
The ball link needs to be centred to he main shaft to provide 0 delta offset, it also needs to be 30% longer, as in distance from the centre of the feathering spindle to the ball link.
Thats because you have a mechanical reduction with the mixing arms in place, if you are going direct from swash to the blade grips that reduction has gone. Moving the link further out provides that reduction.
On the 600N with the v-bar head you also have to move the servo balls further in, providing a little bit more reduction.
I'm not quite sure what the 0 delta offset achieves, but I have been informed that it is required.
This explains more of what I have just written
