How am I suppose to use the temp sensor? Do you just tape the sensor to the battery?

That would work.

I have a similar problem in that I cannot get the charger to switch from USB mode to Temp mode. The settings will not change under the user settings menu.
Any suggestions?

Scroll through the User Setup until you come to the USB/TEMP submenu. Press START. USB will be flashing. Use the INC & DEC to change to TEMP. Press START again.

Take a velcro battery strap and cut a small 1/8" slit in it somewhere in the middle. Carefully push the temperature sensor through the slit (should be a tight fit if you kept it to 1/8"). Now, just wrap the strap around the battery that you are charging with the sensor to the inside. You can see the straps in this picture (sorry to recycle it again).

I have tried that, but that is my problem. It will not switch to the TEMP setting. It only switches to the TEMP Cutoff setting and allows me to set the cutoff temp in Celcuis. Is this what you are talking about?

So you are on the USB/TEMP menu. What happens when you press ENTER?

It switches to TEMP CUTOFF and gives the default of 80C and the number flashes. I left it on this setting and plugged the temp probe in and it seems to register. I have to thumb through several pages before the temp is shown.
Is there a way to use the USB software with the Temp sensor at the same time? I see in the software there is a temp option.

Not on the BC-6 since the temp and USB share the same port. The BC6-10, BC-8, 902 have separate ports for each.
