The Castle BEC is 10amps PEAK....think the work well on 3s and 4s smaller stuff but have seen several pics of them where they burned up.and it was always with 6S power.
Im going with Jeremy's suggestion and using the Western Robotics BEC. It looks like it can take it and ask for more

Currently I have my (2) 550s with Maxpro's on JR8417 flawless operation I have some Western Robotics but have yet to try them

Thanks guys:)
I shouldn't use a RX battery?
Unnecessary weight?

It really all depends on what servos your going to use as to whether a RX battery is more useful than a high quality BEC. Some servos, for example the JR 8717, use a large amount of amp draw. This kind of servo doesn't work well with a BEC because the amp draw can be so much that the BEC shuts down or the voltage drops so low the RX reboots. I do not ever recommend using a BEC with this servo. The JR 8717 servos work better on a RX battery because they like 8v and they are amp hungry.
Some would rather use a RX battery to save weight or they had bad luck with a BEC in the past. Sometimes the servos they have chosen work better on a 8v lipo than a 6v BEC.
What servos are you going to use?

I've bought Bls253. I was actually going to try out the align servos to test how they work, but they got sold out. ;)

Without having any experience with those; I would think they would work well on a high quality BEC from looking at the specs.

Ok thanks:)
I'm using a RX battery on my t-rex 700 and i used it on my 600N when I had that and my 500 of course had the built in BEC in the esc, but the 550 is right in between so i have no clue about using rx battery or not.;)
But thanks for the help. Now all I need to do is WAIT:thumbdown:;)
