I am out shopping today. Recommendations on a fast (Futaba) servo to run the collective?

JR8611 in there now but it does not seem to have the SNAP it used to. No idea how old it is as I bought the heli used.

9451 or a 9255 should fit the bill nicely dan

Cool thanks. The old Raptor seems a bit slow now that I have the Predator. I figure this may help it out a bit

If you wanna drop some cash try the futaba 9350 or the 9351 tons of torque and fast. I used the 9350 on collective of my freya. You can pitch pump it all day with no problems.

Well I saw that

9351 - Speed: .13 sec/60 Degrees @ 6.0V Torque: 192 oz-in @ 6V
vs
9451 - Speed: .10 Sec/60 Degrees @ 6.0V Torque: 121 oz/in @ 6V

I was figuring 121 oz of torque would be enough and would side with "faster".

Thoughts?

yes that is true. I was just remembering when I read your post about the collective servo that I had on my freya. I could not remember if it was the 9350 or 9351 but I do remember it was like a 100 bucks a pop :arggg: . I think the 121oz would be plenty for a fifty and speed wise. Whats the cost on that one?

9351 is $109
9451 is $79

Throw an Airtronics 94758 on it.

Throw an Airtronics 94758 on it.

Torque: 115oz/in @ 6.0V
Transit Time: 0.06 sec/60 degrees @ 6.0V

I have the Airtronics 94758 on both my Rator 50s and it rocks. Stick a small amount of collective in it and it's right there. Very fast. It seems like it takes less power with the faster servo. When you do some pitch pumping it happens right away.

Flys very nice with this servo.
