Ok, I just did a test flight with my 450 AP ship.

I lifted off, but only to go up to 2 ft. It was with 95% throttle all the way, 325mm woodies, 13t pinion, JGF 500th motor, jazz esc, and TP prolites 2100 15c battery.

I want to go higher (obviously)...what would I have to change? going to 345mm blades? 15t pinion? better lipo?

HELP!!! :(

Hey Franky92,

Saw your setup in the other thread - and you saw my ship... my ship flies quite high no probs..

not much difference between ours - mine is on the stock 430L motor and 325mm blades..

Have not been able to weigh mine but by the time everything is on the difference in camera weight made a huge difference.

I used an old canon A75 with 4xAA batteries (approx 300g) and it was on nearly full power all flight and struggled, but still went up! switched to a sony A35 7mp cam which was only about 135g and a huge difference, not struggling now...

so the extra 170 odd grams made a big difference once already AP loaded..

not sure how much your lumix camera weighs but I think it's like my first canon A75..

I recently got a cheap samsung s750 that I'm going to try as it's cheaper to replace than the sony in a crash!

Take your camera off and see how she flies, this will tell you straight away if it's a weight issue...

I think for the t-rex450 we need a camera under 200g with an aim to have one around the 130-150g mark.. anything more than that will be too heavy once all the other AP stuff is taken into account as well :(

Hope this helps...

I removed my heavy video TX and tested it again. I have a test shot. It was taken in semi total darkness with flash, so not too bad in my opinion for a first one:

hmm - might have to find a lighter TX if that solved your problem :(
