Maximum Charge Voltage for An 8 Cell 9.6v NiMH Pack [Archive]

I'm pretty new to battery nomenclature, so I'm wondering what my 8 cell NiMH pack (9.6v) should read on a Multimeter when it is FULLY charged? I'm still coming to terms with the fact that my 11.1v Li-Po should read 12.44-12.6 volts. Why not just call it a 12.5v then??? :) Sorry for the newbie questions, but I have looked elsewhere and have not gotten a definative answer.

as high as 11.4 can be expected..
No fly voltage is 9.7 V or less
