Cspec PS and 60M carb, 3 needle mod?

I have a cspec ps with the 2 needle carb, and cat eye mod already done, would it be worth my time to add the optional 3rd needle to the carb? even with the cat eye mod, I get a little bit of a lean clanging when revving down. Also, would I have to change my plumbing? Thanks!

Adding the third needle is a big plus in controlling the lean condition. It allows the mid range to be controlled more consistently. That allows the high end needle to usually be leaned out a little more.

When installing the third needle. All that is required is taking out the brass looking plug that has the check valve attached to it. Screw the third needle in place of the brass plug. The check valve will still be just like it was before the needle assembly was installed.

Now the third needle assembly works opposite than most needle assemblys.
The needle will turn clockwise to richen the midrange and counter clockwise to lean it. Screwing the needle out is leaning the midrange. Screwing the needle inward is richening the midrange.

Don't know anything about a cat eye mod. I was running the 60M carb stock.
