Is there a difference in the receivers from overseas ($209) vs the ones from here ($339)?

I understand that there isn't warranty protection in the US for products purchased overseas. Should a warranty problem arise, I realize that it would have to be sent back to it's country of origin. Is that the only drawback?

Reason I'm asking is that there are R5014 72Mhz receivers for $120 less overseas. That's a significant enough amount of money to entice me to purchase.

Another example of Tower Fleecing the more affluent of the hobby...

I'm pretty sure the 5014's are full band and take their channel selection from the transmitter.

I asked this question to Cyberheli and they told me it is the same one sold in the US.

Just make sure it's a 72MHz. I baught one once from an overseas place and it was a 35 MHz.

I will tell you what I was told, but do not know if it is actually true. I was told the txs and rxs are regionally coded, that is an Asian rx will not work with a North American tx, even with the correct serial number entered. I cannot confirm this as I have not purchased any rxs from offshore.

I'll find out when I get home. Currently I'm sitting in Pensacola and should arrive back in VA by the evening. I will hook it up and run some initial tests.

Because it made as much sense as the Ohm's Law chart on this thread

BTW, the 72 Mhz Cyberheli receivers do work...
