hello all

i have a question

can i just take off the flybar and increase the angle the blades travel in cyclics to compensate for the missing flybar and not buy anything like helicommand or V-bar?

i only want flybarless for 3D flying

I think you will find it really difficult to fly, but try it, and tell us how you did :D

but were there not several flybar less kits dating back into the 80's..all purely mechanical?

One thing is to fly around with a mechanical flybarless, another thing is a fast, highly controllable heli that is capable of extreme 3D flying...

You could try with your present heli. I haven't tried it but you could take your paddles off and put some wheel collars on instead. Try it, then start removing the wheel collars to reduce the weight. Once one wheel collar is left, slide it toward the head.

I'm sure you will quickly learn what stability the flybar gives you.

that's why almost all will use a gyro for pitch and roll when going flybarless

charging my camera, pics will soon come of the vintage heli

My legend head on my GMP cobra was fun to fly as an experiment. Back then the biggest difference in servos was whether they were ball brg or just bushings. The flybar does two distinct functions. When hovering the sticks were mush because of no help from paddles to force bladedisc to change attitude. Then in fff there was no gyro-stabilizer effect and the disc is unstable. It would pitch up in the nose when fast foward. If you pulled back on the collective it would tuck the nose. If you gave it much roll in fff it would roll like a spiral! The real key was to make the blades weigh enough to be stable but not too heavy. Now we have super servos and factory made blades. If you take the paddles off expect the machine to become very stable in hover but less predictable in flight. I would never 3D one like this until I did some high up testing. Report back please. Wow that is quite the Heli, thanks for sharing. Note: the exhaust looks like an intestine all twisted through the frame like that.

no gyro`s at all , the rappy has even just had a 4 blade head on it and that flew very well but thats for another heli so she`s back to 2 blades :YeaBaby:

hello
Ady,does your transformation work good?the heli isn't more difficult to control that if he have a flybar or a 3 axis gyro?which parts do you need to do this transformation?
thanks for your answer
(sorry for my english)

basically with either , the 500 or the rappy , you can do it all with the kit parts , they both need to be flown all the time too , the 500 becomes alive and takes alot of brain power when ya turn up the end points but can me mega fun , the rappy is even better cos a tank lasts longer , but you do have to fly them all the time , thats the only advise

thanks for your quick response
so it's a little more difficult to control because you have to correct all the time?or it's really too good to fly it? :YeaBaby:
thanks
