I've got a c-spec (pumped) in my Fury. I took out the engine last night and a portion of the blue anodize has been rubbed off and the metal below it is polished shiny.

I didn't realize that the plastic shroud could do so much damage.

It not just rubbing either. There are gouges of metal removed from the the top and a bit on the sides.

Is that normal wear?

It was normal wear on mine when I had it. You could always machine a liitle off both sides of the head if it bugs you too much, or cut the shroud back a little

they wear characteristics of ABS, Nylon, and most other plastics are much better than Aluminum. Notice you never see aluminum bushings protecting high wear areas. Either Brass or plastic, depending on the application, but never aluminum.

Personally, I would like to have the option of having a non-coated head.. I am not sure that the coating on there is really anodizing, it seems like something else, and my guess is that its' interference with cooling is not outweighed by its' bling factor..
