I'm running an OS 91 CSPEC pumped and using the standard 8.45 ratio to break in the motor. So far, so good :D The engine is still rich after a gallon of 30%, but it's running pretty well. My question is; I have the choice of 93, 95 and 97 tooth main gears and 11 or 12 tooth pinions. So, I have a choice of 8.45, 8.63, 8.81, 7.91, or 8.08. I'm leaning towards 8.08. I never run a headspeed over 1800, so how much difference will it make? I'm running 700 & 710mm blades and Hatori Todd Bennett muffler.

Thanks in advance.

First off you dont have the option of the 97 main gear. There isnt enough room. You have to move the main shaft back and the tail pulley back. Not possible with the plastic frames. Your only options on the Evo is 8.45 or the 7.92. With the Cspec I think the 7.92 works better. But the 8.45 will work.

I am running the OS91 C-Spec and I used to run the 95T I had the rotor doing 2080 on 700's
It was pretty lively but 10.5 would load alot. Mind you I only run 15% Nitro.
You could still do alot of 3D maneuvers with out a problem.
I recently changed to 8.08 97T what kind of Head speed should I be looking for?
I reckon the motor will be doing @ 16,000 in idle up governed.
This should give about 2000 on the main rotor.
Over reving ?

The Freya's have more lively cyclics with 690 main blades (e.g. Rotortech)

16,000 is a bit high for the OS which has better torque lower down
7.92 may work better - depends on your flying style

I run 7:92 on the OS and 8:45 on the YS (two Freya's)
They both perform well - climbs are cool

The loading at 10.5 may be due to the 700's or tuning (rich)

1950 on a standard Freya or XSpec
2000 on a Freya Evo
Goes real good

Hi to all!
I have a Freya 90 and I would like to convert it to gas...I believe that I will buy a Zenoah G231..
I will have to change the gear ratio to 6:1 or so...
So, the question is where can I buy the new gears?

Thanks and hope you can help me!
Mauro.-
