123-83 no longer available? I was told this by proz and ricks! It was shear luck I was able to get one from proz only because they were waiting for a call tag to send them back. Since this is the only gear that will fit on the input shaft, WTF was the thinking behind this one :arggg:

My question is why did you order from so far out of state when MA is less than 3 hours from Pinellas Park?

Question answered with more questions. hhhmmm perhaps a proverbial can of worms! I live in Pensacola (7 miles from the AL state line). I have no idea where Pinellas park is! I've ordered directly from MA before, and the parts get here no faster than from Ricks. Ricks just charges less with no tax and have parts for my Raptor 30 as an extra added bonus. Heliproz is even cheaper, but takes too long unless you are order 3 day select or not worried about waiting a week for it.
I'm just wondering if there is a new part number to replace the input shaft gear or is this just a huge misunderstanding between MA and their dealers :smokin:

I asked Tim about the gears this weekend in Statesbore. MA has not issued any recalls on the plastic tail gears that have the pins in them. So if Heliproz is waiting on a call tag for them to be returned, I don't think they will see one. The plastic gear with the pin is still used on the input shaft in the gear box. 123-83 is still available. 123-92 is the plastic gear with the set screw for the out put shaft 123-90 that has the dimples in the shaft.

I figured as much. Neither Eric @ heliproz or Nathan @ Ricks are aware of this. They are both under the impression that 123-92 replaces it.
Perhaps MA should send out an FYI email to their dealers

Pinellas Park in the Tampa/ St. Pete area. Locally the news stations use PNS to ID Pinellas Park.
My bad, I thought you were MUCH closer than the panhandle..

123-92 states that it is for the out put shaft only.
123-92 New Output Gear w/ dogpoint set screw for open tail units used with 123-83 and 123-90
123-90 is the out put shaft with dimples
123-83 is the pinned gear that goes on the input shaft
123-79 Input shaft for open tail box
800-7 input shaft for metal and plastic closed gear box
Those are only two input shafts for the gear boxes. 123-79 has the hole thru it for the roll pin
