topping off nicd and nimh

I wanted to know if it is ok to top off my batteries before flyig again? Does this degrad them faster?> Ex.. I flew today 3 tanks. My receiver battery is still about 60-70% and trans is 10.1 volts. Can I top these off before next flight without losing any longevity from the batteries? Or should I fly them and when they are lower then switch them and recharge??

I do that sometimes and have not noticed any ill effects.

I also do the same I like to start the day fully charged or close to it.
My chargers are the simple no readout type and I just guestimate the charge, I
do keep an eye on the voltage and ESV the rx pack often.
I have not noticed any abnormal problems with my packs either.
