One problem that many people complain about with most simulators is that we do not have a large enough field of view (periphial vision) on a computer monitor to know when the ground is coming up fast.
I have found that turning on the 'Look at Ground' option helps this a lot.
The downside is that your aircraft can turn into a little spec if you try to fly too far away from yourself. But this is the same in real-life, isn't it? ;)
To try this, go to the View Menu and then check 'Look at Ground'.
You have to select it on each session as G2 does not remember this settting. This happens during on-line flights also. Remember to check 'look at ground' early and often.
